On Sunday, October 20th 2024, day 280 of the ongoing Israeli genocide of the people of the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces continued their relentless bombardment and siege on the Gaza Strip.
Five Palestinians were injured before dawn on Sunday when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced people in Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip.
Two Palestinians were also injured when the occupation bombed a house belonging to the Daloul family southwest of Gaza City, while the occupation helicopters fired towards the western areas of northern Gaza, while the Israeli occupation aircraft launched a raid targeting the west of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation continues, for the sixteenth consecutive day, its tight siege on the northern Gaza Strip, amid escalating ethnic cleansing crimes and committing horrific massacres that claimed the lives of hundreds of citizens, the latest of which was the Beit Lahia massacre last night, in addition to targeting hospitals and medical staff.
Last night, the Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a residential area in the Beit Lahia project, killing 73 citizens.
Israeli occupation tanks also surrounded the Indonesian Hospital in the Sheikh Zayed area and demolished part of its walls. They targeted the upper floors of Al-Awda Hospital three times, and the bombing also targeted Al-Yaman Al-Saeed Hospital.
The Israeli occupation bombed the surroundings of Kamal Adwan Hospital, targeting water tanks and the electricity network.
Israeli occupation artillery targeted Jabalia and its surroundings violently and intensively, and columns of smoke were seen rising from the camp and its surroundings, coinciding with the movements of machinery and the demolition, destruction, and burning of residential buildings, using explosive barrels and booby-trapped robots.
The Israeli occupation army surrounded the shelters housing displaced Palestinians with a large number of military vehicles in what eyewitnesses called a “terrifying” scene, and subjected women and children to searches and intimidation, before allowing them to leave the shelters, and arrested a number of men and boys, in light of the almost complete disruption of the work of ambulance and civil defense crews as a result of targeting them or preventing them from performing their duties.
350,000 civilians are being forced to flee due to the brutal bombing of the Israeli occupation by aircraft and artillery, and hospitals are still deprived of medical and non-medical supplies, which has directly affected their ability to provide medical services to patients and the injured. In addition, the reality in the northern Gaza Strip has led to the displacement of medical personnel, which has left civilians without any possibility of treating their wounds and illnesses, which are spreading at a rapid pace.
The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of 42,519 citizens and the injury of 99,637 others, the majority of whom are children and women, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of people are still missing under the rubble.
Among the slain Palestinians are at least 16,927 children, 11,487 women, 2,419 elderly people, 175 journalists, 85 emergency responders, 986 medical staff, and 203 UNRWA staff.
The British Lancet Medical Journal and other experts estimate the death toll in Gaza is much higher – and could be above 200,000, when counting both direct and indirect deaths related to the Israeli war on Gaza.
This most recent escalation of Israel’s ongoing military occupation of Palestine began October 7th 2023 when 1,143 Israelis were killed, including 767 civilians and 376 armed soldiers. Around 500 Israeli soldiers have been killed between October 7th and now – both in Gaza and on the Israeli border with Lebanon.
